BBESL are currently expanding their engineering capability and are looking for an experienced engineer.
You will work closely with the Chief Mechanical Engineer to provide support to other engineers within the discipline and undertake approvals of key engineering deliverables. You should have a minimum of 10 years experience in the mechanical engineering discipline, be able to represent the company at the highest level in your discipline and have good communication and written skills. You will be qualified to degree standard in engineering or equivalent, and be a Chartered Engineer.
The key duties will include:
1. Produce/check/verify designs.
2. To direct the CAD resource accordingly.
3. Ensure technical specifications are in line with Contract requirements.
4. Undertake and/or review/approve technical appraisals of bids.
5. Ensure suppliers/sub-contract design meets the requirements of the sub-contract and Contract requirements.
6. Ensure detailed design is integrated across all disciplines.
7. Manage own work within agreed hours budget.
8. Report progress to the Project Engineer and Chief Engineer.
9. Attend hand-over and pre-order meetings for the packages within his work scope.
10. Mentor Engineers.
11. Represent BBESL at Client and Supplier meetings.
12. Provide Technical support to site engineers.
13. Conversant with the responsibilities of the designer as defined in the CDM Regulations and able to prepare risk assessments.
14. Attend HAZOP meetings.
15. Prepare and/or check/approve structural and hydraulic calculations.
